Solace ("we", "the app") is a menopause and perimenopause tracking and education app. This policy explains what data Solace handles and how. In short: your health data stays on your device, and we don't sell or share it.
Health and log data you enter — symptoms, severity, periods, mood, sleep, medications, triggers and notes. This is stored only on your device using Apple's on-device database. We do not upload it to our servers, and we do not store it in iCloud.
Apple Health data (optional) — every Apple Health feature is off until you turn it on, and you approve each data type in Apple's own permission sheet:
Solace never sends Apple Health data off your device.
Apple Watch (optional) — hot flashes you log on the Solace watch app are sent directly from your watch to your iPhone (Apple's WatchConnectivity), not through our servers.
Backups and exports you create — the CSV export, doctor report PDF and backup file are created on your device and go only where you choose to send or save them (for example Files, iCloud Drive or AirDrop). Solace does not upload them anywhere.
No account — Solace does not require an account and does not collect your name, email, advertising identifier, or location. When you use the optional AI features below, the app sends a random, app-generated identifier (not linked to you, reset if you reinstall) solely so we can apply a fair-use limit. It is not used to track you or build a profile.
To understand which parts of Solace are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. A signal says things like "the Trends tab was opened", "a mood was logged" or "the paywall was shown" — with coarse counts (e.g. "2–5") and whether you have Solace Plus. Signals never contain what you log: no symptom names, severities, notes, medication names, period dates, stage results or Apple Health data. There is no account, advertising identifier or name; TelemetryDeck receives only a salted, one-way hash generated on your device, so the data isn't linked to you and isn't used to track you across apps.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → About → Share anonymous usage data.
These run only if you use them, and the app is fully functional with them off.
AI insights — Solace performs the correlation analysis on your device and sends only a small, anonymized and aggregated summary (for example: a symptom name, a trigger label, and how often they co-occurred) to our processing service to phrase the result in plain language. This contains no raw logs, no Apple Health data, no dates, no account information.
"Explain this for me" — when you ask Solace to explain a topic, the words you type are sent to the same service to generate a plain-language answer. Don't include personal details in the question.
Processing runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure (including Cloudflare Workers AI); your summary/question is used only to generate the response and is not sold, shared, or used to train models or build a profile.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only the purchase/entitlement status needed to unlock Solace Plus features; we do not receive your payment details.
Solace is not directed at children and is rated for ages 12+.
Solace is a tracking and education tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider about your health.
