Tagsmith

Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 August 2026
The short version: Tagsmith does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. The app contains no networking code at all — no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads. Your photos and their metadata never leave your device.

Who we are

Tagsmith (the “App”) is an on-device photo & video metadata tool for iPhone: it shows the hidden EXIF, GPS and IPTC data in your photos, and can remove or edit that data in clean copies. This policy explains how the App handles your information. It is short on purpose, because Tagsmith is built so that your information never leaves your device.

Information we collect

None. We do not run any servers and there are no user accounts, so we never receive your personal information, your photos, or their metadata. Everything the App reads — camera details, capture dates, GPS coordinates, captions — is processed entirely on your iPhone.

Photo library access

With your permission, Tagsmith reads photos you choose in order to display their metadata, and saves cleaned or edited copies back to your library. Your originals are never modified. You can grant full or limited access, and change it at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos. The App works with limited access too — it reads only the items you pick.

Location data

Tagsmith displays the GPS coordinates already stored inside your photos, and can remove them or (if you choose) add a location by dropping a pin on a map. To show a place name for coordinates, the App uses Apple's on-device geocoding service (CLGeocoder), which is covered by Apple's privacy protections. Tagsmith never asks for or tracks your own device location.

Analytics, advertising & third-party SDKs

None. Tagsmith contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting services, and no third-party software development kits. We do not track you. The App's Privacy Manifest declares no data collection and no tracking, and the App genuinely contains no networking code — this claim is architectural, not just a promise.

Purchases

Tagsmith Pro is a one-time purchase. Payments and restore-purchase requests are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details.

How your data leaves the device

Only when you deliberately export or share a file — for example, sharing a cleaned copy of a photo. Those files go only where you choose to send them. If your photo library uses iCloud Photos, fetching your own originals onto your device is performed by Apple's PhotoKit under your iCloud settings.

Your control & data deletion

Tagsmith stores only your app preferences on your device (for example, your default export choice). It keeps no database of your photos. Deleting the App removes everything the App stored. Copies the App saved to your photo library are ordinary photos in your library, under your control.

Children's privacy

Tagsmith is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. As described above, we do not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the App.
